Thermal Stability of Medium- and High-Entropy Alloys of 3d-Transition Metals

چکیده

A family of high-entropy alloys (HEA) composed 3d-transitional metals is attracting great interest due to the mechanical, magnetic, and electrical properties that are valuable in development advanced structural functional materials. In this work, we studied X-CoCrFeNi HEAs, where X = Al, Ti, or Cu, produced by mechanical alloying means high-energy ball milling. Powder mixture elemental metal powders transforms a homogeneous alloy (super-saturated solid solution) intense diffusion which takes place during friction shear deformation particles alloying. The thermal stability HEA phases was experimentally range 873-1273 K using high-temperature X-ray diffraction compared with results thermodynamic calculations (Calphad).

Experiments and Model for Serration Statistics in Low-Entropy, Medium-Entropy, and High-Entropy Alloys

High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are new alloys that contain five or more elements in roughly-equal proportion. We present new experiments and theory on the deformation behavior of HEAs under slow stretching (straining), and observe differences, compared to conventional alloys with fewer elements. For a specific range of temperatures and strain-rates, HEAs deform in a jerky way, with sudden slips tha...

Multicomponent and High Entropy Alloys

This paper describes some underlying principles of multicomponent and high entropy alloys, and gives some examples of these materials. Different types of multicomponent alloy and different methods of accessing multicomponent phase space are discussed. The alloys were manufactured by conventional and high speed solidification techniques, and their macroscopic, microscopic and nanoscale structure...

Magnetic and Electronic Properties of Liquid Transition Metals and Alloys

We have measured the magnetic susceptibility, the Hall coefficient and the electrical resistivity of liquid transition metals Fe, Co and Ni alloyed with normal metals. Up to now the investigated alloys can be divided into two groups according to the behaviour of the magnetic susceptibility. The typical behaviour is represented by the liquid alloys of Co-Ge and Au-Ni. In the first group the magn...

Thermal stability of AlCoCrCuFeNi high entropy alloy thin films

High entropy alloys (HEAs), containing five to thirteen metallic elements, with a concentration in the range of 5 to 35 % for each element, exhibit very interesting properties (mechanical, tribological, formability, magnetism...). Their high mixing entropy promotes the formation of simple solid solutions with amorphous or nanocrystallized structure. Bulk pieces of these alloys are known to be s...
